The all-rounder

New to PB for 2026. In-turned eye, curved shank, beaked point. Circle hook geometry, taken as far as it goes in carp fishing.

Everything about it is built around one idea. Every time pressure goes on the eye, the shape drives the point further home. It does not lever, it does not work loose, it does not back out.

This pattern design means it turns extremely quick. The curved shank does the work as your hookbait is taken and the in-turned eye keeps everything tight, so the point is already where it needs to be.

Can be used on bottom baits, wafters and pop-ups, and it is the natural choice on a Ronnie setup. This is a pattern within the SURUDOI range which has the approval of Mark Holmes in his big fish adventures across the UK.

The angular one

New to PB for 2026, and the most distinctive pattern in the range. Straight shank, wide gape, in-turned eye, beaked point, and a bend that has corners in it.

During the testing phase with this hook, we saw that once it goes in, it very rarely moves. This is due to the makeup of the angled bend. Once it goes in, unlike conventional round hooks, this has two angles it needs to work through to come out of your hook hold.

This pattern comes into its own when fishing a multitude of presentations, but more so when using pop-ups, zigs or surface fishing. It is still as deadly when used with a bottom bait presentation.

The widest gape in the range

New to SURUDOI, but not new to PB. The Wide Circle has been in the range since 2023 and it has been putting big fish on the mat ever since. Now it is built from Japanese steel to the SURUDOI standard.

Short shank, wide gape, beaked point.

The gape does two things. It leaves the point proud in all situations, even with a long aligner on, and it means this works perfectly with larger baits too. The short shank is the other half of it: less shank means less leverage, so the hook is stronger for its size and easier to hide behind your hookbait.

Fished as standard, it turns aggressively quick and takes hold on a beaked point that pricks the moment it touches.

Add an aligner and you can extend the shank, and the curve with it. The more aggressive that curve, the harder it is to eject once in a carp's mouth. A carp has no hands. Once it is in, there is nothing it can do about it.

Can be used on bottom baits, wafters and pop-ups.

The pattern that does the turning for you

The Curved KD is an established PB pattern, rebuilt to the SURUDOI standard. It was originally designed around the KD rig, but its curved profile makes it useful far beyond one presentation.

The defining feature is the continuous curve through the shank and into the eye. As the hooklink tightens, that shape encourages the hook to rotate, bringing the point down towards the bottom lip without relying on a long kicker or an extended section of shrink tube.

On a KD rig, the hair leaves the shank close to the eye. That positions the hookbait above the hook and leaves the point hanging below it at an aggressive angle. When the hookbait is taken in, there is clear separation between the bait and the hook, giving the point room to find hold as the rig tightens.

It is particularly well suited to wafters, critically balanced hookbaits and low pop-ups. It can also be fished with a conventional hair when you want the turning mechanics of a curved hook without building an overly complicated rig.

Built for discreet presentations

The Falcon Grip is made for situations where the less the carp sees, the better. Dropping a single tiger nut into the edge, lowering a bait beneath an overhanging tree or fishing larger hookbaits on open European canals, it keeps the presentation clean and unobtrusive.

Its long, narrow profile is the defining feature. There is less hook sitting beneath the bait than with a wider, heavier-looking pattern, helping the rig remain discreet without sacrificing the gape needed to take hold.

The straight point gives the hook a direct route into the mouth as the hooklink tightens. Combined with the extended shank, it creates a pattern that turns quickly and sits securely once it finds a hold.

It is particularly well suited to simple hair rigs and understated presentations where the hook should disappear into the arrangement rather than dominate it. Small baits in the edge, large baits at range and everything between them.

The OG

The Jungle Hook has been part of the PB range for years. In that time, it has landed fish to over 100lb from venues across Thailand, as well as countless big carp from across the UK and Europe.

Short shank, wide gape and a beaked point.

The compact shape is what gives the Jungle Hook its strength. The short shank reduces leverage, while the wide gape leaves plenty of room for the hook to take a firm hold. The beaked point turns back towards the shank, helping it remain secure when sustained pressure is applied.

It is made for fishing tight to snags, in heavy weed and anywhere a hooked fish needs to be turned quickly. When you are fishing locked up and cannot afford to give line, this is the pattern for the job.

Fish it on a standard knotless knot or pair it with a Short Shank Aligner to improve its turning capabilities. It works with bottom baits, wafters and snowman presentations.

The ultimate pop-up presentation

The Stinga Chod is built specifically for chod rigs and other stiff pop-up presentations. Its out-turned eye allows stiff materials such as Chod Mono to leave the hook in line with the shank, rather than being forced around an in-turned eye.

That eye position is the key to the pattern. It allows the hook to sit at the correct angle on a stiff hook section, keeping the presentation free to rotate and helping the hook turn when the rig is picked up.

The short shank keeps the hook compact beneath the pop-up, while the wide gape leaves plenty of room for the hook to take hold.

Use it on a chod rig, hinged stiff rig or any presentation built with a stiff hooklink material. It is particularly suited to fishing over silt, light weed and chod, where the pop-up needs to sit above debris rather than disappear into it.

This is a specialist pattern designed around stiff materials and buoyant hookbaits, not an all-round hook trying to cover every presentation.

The Super Strong has been one of PB's most trusted hook patterns for years. It is built for anglers who want one hook they can use across a wide range of waters and presentations without questioning whether it is up to the job.

Straight point and wide gape.

The straight point gives the hook quick contact, while the straight eye keeps the pattern neutral and versatile across a wide range of rigs. Add an aligner or a short section of shrink tube when you want to increase its turning capabilities.

Its strength is the reason behind the name. The Super Strong is built to handle sustained pressure without opening out, making it a dependable choice for big fish, demanding waters and situations where you need complete confidence in the hook.

Fish it with bottom baits, wafters or pop-ups. Size 2 is suited to the heaviest fishing, while sizes 4 and 6 cover most everyday carp angling.

It is not tied to one particular rig or situation. It is simply a proven, versatile pattern with strength to spare.
